The role of a Fifth District Appellate Court Judge is to review the decisions made by trial judges in county courthouses in the bottom third of the State of Illinois. The single most important experience to prepare someone to serve on the Appellate Court is to have served as a trial judge.

With nearly two decades experience on the bench, Judge James Wexstten is the ONLY candidate in this race who has served as a judge. His opponent has never served a single day as a judge.

The Supreme Court of Illinois selected Judge James Wexstten, one of the most experienced judges in the State, to serve on the Appellate Court after a distinguished career as a trial judge.

His opponent is asking voters to elect her to the Appellate Court - the second highest court in the State - even though she has never decided a case as a judge at any level of the court system.

Since his appointment to the Appellate Court earlier this year, Judge Wexstten has earned high marks for his performance.

His opponent is asking voters to replace a good judge who is doing a good job with someone who lacks the must crucial experience to prepare her to serve on the Appellate Court.
